Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need minerals in water?
No. Inorganic minerals in drinking water are not good for your body. Our bodies need minerals but only in their organic state. They must first pass through the roots of plants and become organic minerals before our bodies can assimilate them. There is a big difference between drinking dissolved inorganic iron in water and consuming the organic iron in plants, fruits and vegetables. Essentially all of the minerals ingested daily come from the foods we eat.
Is bottled water a better choice?
Most pre-bottled water spends 30-90 days in a warehouse or on a store shelf before you drink it, and you really don’t know what you are really getting. Typically natural spring water comes from an underground source such as a well or an aquifer. However, these waters may still contain many of the inorganic minerals, chemicals & total dissolved solids (TDS) that can be found in tap water, in most cases the total dissolved solids (TDS) of these waters are much higher than tap water ranging from 200-600 parts per million (ppm) of TDS. As compared to R/O purified water which must contain 10 ppm of TDS or less.
Are filters effective in making pure water?
Filters are highly ineffective in removing heavy metals, inorganic contaminants, chemicals and micro-organisms, most filters remove some sediment, chlorine, bad taste and odours at best, and most are too small to be very effective. Another drawback is knowing when to replace the filters, if a filter is not replaced on a regular basis it can become a breeding ground for bacteria.
Why alkaline water is healthier for you?
We alkaline our water by first purifying it through the reverse osmosis process which becomes slightly acidic with a pH of about 5.5 – 6.5 on the pH scale. After purifying the water we re-mineralize it with natural minerals that contain coral calcium, magnesium, potassium, and trace minerals, which raises the pH of the water to 8.0 – 8.5 on the pH scale. Researchers have found that alkalinity has many health benefits in the human body, and the acidity in the human body is linked to many diseases and health disorders.
